Set within the layered landscape of Malappuram, EMA draws from the philosophy of the Kaavu -where humans and nature coexist in quiet balance. Conceived as a continuum rather than an object, the house emerges from reclaimed craft, ecological sensitivity, and memory embedded in materials.
Designed for a small family, the spatial program remains intentionally restrained: two bedrooms, a shared living, dining, kitchen core, an attic for work and fitness, and a seasonal summer room that functions without air-conditioning. Inward-looking and grounded, the architecture embraces shadow, filtered light, and passive cooling to create calm, climate-responsive living.
Built with reclaimed timber, doors, tiles, and stone, EMA evolves with time - aging gracefully as an ecosystem shaped by land and life.
